Condolence Motion – Aunty Agnes Shea OAM

Aunty Agnes Shea OAM was the senior member of the United Ngunnawal Elders Council, which she helped to establish. Her recent passing has affected her family and the broader community. In a condolence motion in the Assembly today, I spoke in honour of her life and her legacy. She overcame great disadvantage, genuinely loved people, tirelessly worked to improve the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and left the ACT a better place. I hope that her legacy will encourage all of us to do and be better.
