ACT Government Plans to Ban Wood Heaters

The current ACT Government intends to phase out all wood heaters in non-rural suburbs of Canberra by 2045. This may include banning the installation of new wood heaters and mandating the replacement of existing wood heaters with electric alternatives. You can read the minister’s announcement of this commitment here.

Many homes in the Belconnen area have wood heaters. The proposed phase-out is therefore likely to impact many residents of the Ginninderra Electorate. As your local member for Ginninderra, it is important for me to know what you think and why.

Thank you for taking the time to respond to this survey. If the government makes any future announcements, I will pass those along.
