Nigerian Association of Medical Doctors in the ACT
When the National Health Co-op went into voluntary administration last year, most of its 32,000 members relied on clinics located in my electorate. My family were members too, and we also worried what might happen.
In the Assembly today, I acknowledged the crucial role of the Nigerian Association of Medical Doctors in the ACT in saving these clinics. Ten of their member GPs purchased six of the seven clinics to keep them open. I honour the doctors who took this risk as I honour all entrepreneurs and small business owners in Canberra. I am grateful to have attended the Association’s awards ceremony last week.
